Examinations are an integral part of the Understanding Campaign, as first lovers will be graduating from the various lay schools and be awarded certificates. The section within the Understanding Campaign responsible for the smooth running of online lay school exams in Accra, outside Accra and internationally are known as IFLEA (International First Love Examination Authority).
Teaching of the 7 Lay Schools is done at every level within the region - Bacenta, Center, and Basonta levels. There are currently seven lay schools: New Believer's School (NBS), Fruitful Believer's School (FBS), School of the Word (SOW), School of Victorious Living (SOVL), School of Solid Foundation (SOSF), School of Evangelism (SOE) and School of Apologetics (SOA).
Graduation ceremonies are organised monthly at the First Love Center. This encourages first lovers to not only start, but complete the various lay schools and be awarded certificates.
Lay Schools exams are usually written online as multiple choice questions (MCQs).
The pass mark for lay school exams is 50%.
